There is an abundance of castles, each with their own unique history.  Fontevraud Abbey, one of Europe’s largest monastic sites, shaped between the 12th and 20th centuries today hosts concerts, conferences and exhibitions and the Marais Poitevin provides the perfect setting in which to explore nature at its best; known locally as France’s “Green Venice”.
